Position Overview:

Reporting to the Supervisor of parking lot security, the Parking Lot Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of vehicles, property, and individuals within the parking lot. This role involves monitoring activities, responding to incidents, and providing excellent customer service to parking lot users. The ideal candidate is vigilant, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular patrols of the parking lot on foot or in a vehicle.
Ensure proper lighting and functioning of security equipment.
Respond promptly to security incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
Provide assistance to individuals in distress or in need of help.
Report incidents to the Supervisor of Parking Lot Security.
Assist parking lot users with directions, information, and vehicle-related issues.
Handle complaints and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
Provide escorts to individuals upon request, ensuring their safety.
Enforce parking rules and regulations, including issuing warnings or citations for violations.
Issue infraction notices when vehicles are not parked in the designated lot or in a fire lane.
Ensure that only authorized vehicles are parked in designated areas.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
Identify and address potential security risks or hazards.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure the security of vehicles and property.
Complete a vehicle and equipment checklist before every shift.
Implement measures to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Previous experience in security is preferred.
Relevant security certifications are preferred but not required.
Strong physical fitness and ability to perform security duties as required.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Proactive approach to safety and security measures.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Ability to work outdoors; exposure to various weather conditions.
Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while patrolling the parking lot by enforcer vehicle, and at times by foot.
