The Opportunity
Servicing our most valued clients, the Operations Supervisor supervises a portfolio of sites within a territory, managing employees and subcontractors to ensure the scope of work is completed, providing training, liaising with external and internal stakeholders, resolving issues or preventing escalations, and conducting inspections to assure quality. The Operations Supervisor acts as the first point of contact for the client regarding but not limited to operations, escalations, and work orders. In addition, the Operations Supervisor guides and directs the employees and subcontractors (where applicable) in the completion of their daily tasks, periodic work, and any on-demand work orders that may arise. The Operations Supervisor fields questions and concerns from the site-based cleaners ensuring they have the tools, supplies, training, and support required to deliver service excellence each and every day.
The Operational Supervisor will require flexibility in shift times and days, as interaction with the night cleaning crew (where applicable), stakeholders, and weekend site visits will be required. Frequent travel within a geographic region is required and must have valid driver's license with clean driving abstract and access to reliable transportation for work.
The Role
Resource Management:
Participates in the hiring, training, and supervision of Alpine employees and subcontractors
Conducts QA inspections within their portfolio
Managing work orders and ensuring it gets completed in a timely manner
Following up on deficiencies and validating for completion
Report photograph any damages onsite or incidents
Client Relations Management:
Liaise with clients to ensure that performance standards are met, and complaints are addressed
Proactively resolve concerns before escalated by the client.
Employee Management:
Ensure all timesheets are correct for assigned sites to Dayforce every Sunday / Monday
Ensure to set clear expectations with staff and subcontractors
Expense Management:
Ensures that scheduled hours and actual hours are in line with budget
Oversee or coordinates equipment repairs
Ensures subcontractor hours are in line with budget
Place monthly supply orders at the end of each month for all assigned sites
Conduct supply audits to ensure adequate par levels of supplies and consumables for each location (and to ensure sites are not over budget)
Ensure Compliance:
Ensures that employees and subcontractors are compliant with requirements such as security clearances, access badges, GST, business licensing, GST, business licensing, WCB, liability insurance, etc. (as applicable)
Ensure the workforce is in compliance with all company, federal, provincial and Collective Bargaining Agreement (where applicable).
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other departments including; People & Culture, Service and Maintenance teams.
The Qualifications
3-4 years of People Management experience
2 years of Commercial Janitorial Cleaning experience
2 years of Customer Service
Good to have
Ability to identify knowledge gap and reach out for training
Ability to identify reoccurring issues and implement corrective actions
Ability to take accountability to resolve matters in a timely manner
The Compensation
Salary Range: $50,000 to $60,000 per annum
Location: Greater Vancouver Area and rural areas within the region.
