Software Developer – Full Stack

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Developer to design, develop, implement, test, and support enterprise web applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern front-end frameworks, Java-based back-end technologies, RESTful APIs, database development, and accessibility standards. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and other IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain enterprise web applications.
• Design, implement, and expand ETL/data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
• Translate technical specifications into working, tested, and production-ready applications.
• Develop detailed programming specifications and write high-quality, maintainable code.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and application maintenance.
• Resolve technical issues during implementation, deployment, migration, and production support.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate front-end applications with back-end services.
• Build responsive, scalable, and mobile-friendly web applications.
• Develop secure, reusable, and high-performance application components.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical discussions.
• Produce technical and user documentation and provide post-implementation support.

Experience Requirements

Development Experience (60%)

Candidates must demonstrate:

• 10+ years of Angular/UI development experience.
• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• 10+ years of Oracle and Open Source database experience.
• Extensive experience with Angular v7+, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, Bitbucket, RxJS, and NPM.
• Experience integrating commercial APIs, including load balancing, service discovery, and resiliency.

UI/UX Experience (25%)

• 10+ years of CSS experience.
• Extensive HTML5 and responsive web development experience.
• Experience developing applications for mobile devices.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.

Accessibility Experience (10%)

• 10+ years of experience developing applications compliant with WCAG 2.0, AODA, and PCI standards.
• Hands-on experience with JAWS, WAI-ARIA, and accessible HTML5 development.

Project Experience (5%)

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working in the Ontario Public Sector or other government environments.
• Experience with Government Two-Way Secure Messaging Gateway solutions.
