Role overview
Sushi Kawa is looking for a qualified Restaurant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of the restaurant
- Manage and supervise restaurant staff, including servers, cooks, kitchen helpers and other team members
- Schedule staff work shifts and monitor staff performance
- Train new employees in customer service, food safety, restaurant procedures and company standards
- Ensure high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness and workplace safety
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and special requests in a professional manner
- Monitor inventory levels and order food, beverages, supplies and equipment as needed
- Control food, labour and operating costs to support efficient restaurant operations
- Maintain records of sales, inventory, staff schedules and daily business activities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and food handling regulations
- Assist with menu planning, pricing, promotions and business development strategies
- Work with the owner and management team to improve restaurant sales, service quality and overall operations
Requirements
- Education: High School
- Experience: 1-2 years
- Experience in Japanese restaurant operations is an asset
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills are required
- Ability to supervise staff and manage a busy restaurant environment is required
- Knowledge of food safety, inventory control and restaurant operations is an asset
