Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Environmental Due Diligenceteam in Richmond. The role reports to the Operations Manager.
Role Overview
In this role, you’ll support a variety of environmental assessment and remediation projects related to property transactions, redevelopment, and regulatory compliance across BC. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and senior staff, gaining hands-on experience in both the field and office.
You’ll be exposed to Phase I and II ESAs, remediation work, and regulatory processes, with opportunities to build your skills and take on more responsibility over time. This role is well suited to someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated to build their experience in environmental consulting.
Work environment: This role includes a mix of field and office work (typically 30–60% field, depending on project needs).

Key Responsibilities
Field & Technical Work
- Complete field investigations including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling
- Support environmental assessment and remediation programs
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, review, and edit technical reports
- Conduct historical and regulatory research
- Support Phase I & II ESAs and Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs)
Project Support & Coordination
- Assist with project setup, planning, and execution
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal team members
Client & Stakeholder Interaction
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies, with support from senior staff
- Contribute to building positive working relationships

What You’ll Bring to Pinchin
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field (or diploma with relevant experience)
- 2–3 years of related experience (co-op or internship experience considered)
- Strong technical writing, organizational, and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle
- Willingness to travel within the region; occasional travel across BC may be required
- Availability for occasional work outside core business hours
Assets:
- Experience supporting transaction-related Phase I/II ESA work
- Familiarity with BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and remediation processes
