Role overview
Job Summary
Lead and supervise mechanical trades teams to complete vehicle and equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations. Ensure quality, safety, and efficient resource use while providing technical guidance to technicians.

Main Duties
- Supervise and schedule daily activities of mechanics and apprentices, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and on-the-job training to team members.
- Coordinate procurement and maintenance of tools, parts, and equipment and manage inventory levels.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other trades to plan projects and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on crew performance, job status, and health and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or trade certificate in a relevant mechanical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Several years of hands-on experience in mechanical repair or maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Practical knowledge of diagnostic tools, equipment maintenance practices, and technical schematics.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce safe work practices.
- Proven leadership and communication skills with experience mentoring and developing staff.
- Basic computer skills for managing work orders, inventory systems, and reporting.
