The Human Resources Systems Analyst will play a significant role in the university's enterprise resource planning (ERP) transformation initiative. The position will contribute to the planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide HR technology solutions. Working closely with project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, the incumbent will help ensure HR business processes, data structures, integrations, reporting, and security requirements are successfully aligned with the future-state ERP environment.

Summary:

The human resources systems analyst integrates and optimizes human resources (HR) business processes and operations across the organization through HR technology solutions. Key responsibilities include participating in the development, maintenance, and support of the human resource information system (HRIS). This role supports the digital transformation of HR service offerings by leading or engaging in projects or process improvements that increase efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency across the university.

This position provides data analysis and recommendations to support decision-making activities of the organization regarding HR, workforce planning, and labour relations activities. Additionally, this role supports leadership in their stewardship responsibility for the quality and management of HR information, data and processes through HR technology solutions and defined standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements solutions across HR technology system(s) that support business needs and enhance processes, in collaboration with centres of expertise and service centre partners.
• Maintains and troubleshoots HR systems, including upgrades, integrations, and customizations.
• Establishes data governance rules and processes to enable HR data quality and security.
• Engages in process mapping and system improvement projects including acting as project champion or lead.
• Designs processes and defines data elements for the completion of digital employee records in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders.
• Creates and analyzes reports for HR programs, workforce planning, and collective bargaining scenarios.
• Initiates and leads projects that continually improve system functionality.
• Performs audits and quality checks to maintain data integrity.
• Coordinates HRIS payroll-related processes with service center payroll partners.
• Participates in labour relations and collective bargaining data analysis and systems development to identify business impacts and opportunities.
• Implements collective agreement, university policy and regulatory changes.
• Works in close partnership with information technology and service centre partners to facilitate process change, including developing collegial relationships and cross functional teams.
• Responds to human resources data and information needs in a timely, effective manner and in accordance with privacy requirements.
• Develops and delivers extensive systems training and support for system users.
• Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment.
• Engages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, computer science or related field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in human resources or information technology with HRIS administration and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems supporting core HR functions, position management, payroll, benefits administration, talent management, recruitment, or time and attendance.
• Experience with system configuration and administration; data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation; requirements gathering and business process design and mapping; system testing (unit, system, integration, user acceptance testing); security roles and access management; and reporting and analytics.
• Experience participating in large-scale ERP implementation, upgrade, or transformation project.
• Experience with multiple HR systems and system analysis is preferred.
• Knowledge of integration technologies and data exchange methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of HR data structures, business processes, policies, data security protocols, and system integrations.
• Proficient computer skills, including data analysis tools and Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel skills.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $72,511.00 - 119,943.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
