Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Corporate Actions Senior Analyst for an existing vacancy on our Corporate Actions team. The Corporate Actions team is a group of focused, passionate and energetic individuals, who together have a direct impact on the investment success of individuals, pension funds, foundations and endowments, First Nations and other institutional clients. The Corporate Actions team is a critical part of our firm and clients’ success and is a challenging and rewarding role for the right individual. In this role, you will experience the inner workings of asset management and will have the opportunity to advance your research, analytical and problem-solving skills for future growth and development within Connor, Clark & Lunn (CC&L). Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do

  • Communicate with custodians, portfolio managers, and key personnel across CC&L to investigate and resolve corporate action cash and holding discrepancies.
  • Gather and synthesize corporate actions information from multiple sources including Bloomberg, investor relations and custodian notifications.
  • Process corporate actions (ex. Mergers & acquisitions, stock dividends, rights issues, spin-offs, redemptions and mortgage-backed security pay-downs) on portfolio holdings quickly and accurately using the firm’s portfolio accounting system (APX).
  • Participate in operational projects focusing on automation, efficiency, and the scalability of IPO’s services.
  • Train and guide new hires on the processes.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of overall experience in the investment industry, with 3+ years in a Corporate Actions role.
  • Experience with processing both mandatory and voluntary events.
  • Previous exposure to multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives).
  • Experience working in Global Markets.
  • The ability to analyze large data sets using Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Stakeholder management – proactively building effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge regarding trade execution and settlement.
  • Enrollment in the CFA or similar qualification is an asset.
  • Programming skills in SQL or Python is an asset.

The starting salary for this position is $75,000-$85,000. The starting salary provided reflects the base salary for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
