GEI is seeking a Mine Hydrologist to support water management planning and operations for mining and large industrial projects in Atlantic Canada. This role focuses on site-wide water management, including surface water systems, water balances, and operational support.
This is not a traditional hydrology role - success in this position requires hands-on experience managing water systems at operating mine sites or large industrial facilities, with a strong focus on practical, operational solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure water is managed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience developing and working with site water balance modelsStrong understanding of surface water hydrology, stormwater management, and industrial water management systemsExperience supporting operational environments, beyond purely consulting or academic workFamiliarity with water management infrastructure (e.g., ponds, ditches, pumping systems, treatment interfaces) and designKnowledge of Canadian environmental regulations (experience in NL considered an asset)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsEligible for or holding a P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation in Canada (asset)Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
