Red Hook are the creators of the Darkest Dungeon series, which has grown from crowdfunded beginnings to become gaming’s most iconic strategy gothic horror franchise. Darkest Dungeon and Darkest Dungeon II have combined to sell many millions of copies. Red Hook continues to function as an independent studio under its parent company, Behaviour Interactive, with a mandate to continue creating bold titles featuring significant innovation. Reporting to the Communications Director, you will be responsible for key link between the company and our player community, ensuring a steady and timely flow of information between them. You will help foster engagement and community growth, support marketing efforts, and work to ensure that player sentiment and critical issues are communicated back to the development team.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing, managing and growing Darkest Dungeon Chinese social channels (qq, rednote, bilibili etc.)
  • Staying up to date with social trends and proposing initiatives to take advantage of any relevant opportunities.
  • Facilitating daily communication with our players online by answering questions, offering support, and generally nurturing an ongoing connection.
  • Regularly communicating with the internal team to highlight interesting community work, player sentiment, and live issues
  • Working with the community team to create a robust content calendar that fits the Darkest Dungeon brand and resonates with our audience in China
  • Writing and creating a variety of content such as blogs, social media posts, newsletters player-facing announcements, and internal reports
  • Fostering relationships with streamers, content creators, and community advocates. Identify creators within the community that would fit the Darkest Dungeon brand
  • Organizing playtests and surveys to help us gain broader player insights
  • Assisting us with in-person events in Asia

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in community management.
  • Strong familiarity with Chinese social media platforms
  • Experience developing community strategy and creating content for a Chinese audience
  • Strong speaking and writing communication skills to liaise between the community and Red Hook team
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluent Mandarin and English
  • Strong understanding of Chinese gaming trends
  • Strong self motivation, organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge & understanding of creating content for, and managing social calendars across multiple social media platforms– including the ability to adapt to key trends.
  • A passion for creating and maintaining positive online spaces, and the mental fortitude required to navigate today’s digital communities.
