After School Care EducatorSaplings Outdoor Program – VancouverPart Time | Starting September 2026
Our After School Care Program serves children aged 5-12 years. Our programs regularly access nearby green spaces and parks, and educators must feel confident and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Position Details:

Part-Time position shifts occurring daily from 2:45-5pm only
Shift pattern to be confirmed.
Start date: September 8th 2026.
Mandatory paid training: Week of August 31st, 2026 (candidates must be available).

Wage:

$20–$24 per hour depending on experience.
Plus $6 per hour ECE Wage Enhancement (if applicable).

Qualifications:

Valid ECE, ECEA or Responsible certification.
Experience working with school aged children.
Emergency Child Care First Aid with CPR Level B and AED, or willingness to obtain prior to start.
Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
Strong understanding of child development and play-based pedagogy.

All successful candidates will be required to:

Complete appropriate Criminal Record Checks.
Submit immunization declaration documentation.
Provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and facilitate engaging, play-based learning experiences.
Support inquiry-based and child-led exploration.
Supervise children indoors and outdoors with active engagement.
Conduct dynamic risk assessments in outdoor environments.
Build respectful, collaborative relationships with families.
Document children’s learning through observations and pedagogical narration.
Maintain licensing compliance and professional standards.
Contribute positively to a reflective, team-based culture.
