A growing beverage manufacturing facility is seeking an Industrial Millwright to join its maintenance team. This role will be responsible for the installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment across production, packaging, and facility operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance and production teams to support equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and production equipment
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment related to production, packaging, facility, and processing operations
  • Work on packaging and production equipment such as conveyors, fillers, labelers, tray packers, canning equipment, kegging equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and related systems
  • Support preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime and reliability
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, and schematics to determine work procedures and required parts
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to identify wear, defects, malfunctions, or opportunities to improve performance
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabrication, and basic piping-related maintenance work
  • Use tools and equipment such as welders, cutting equipment, hydraulic tools, hoists, cranes, jacks, and precision measuring instruments
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, quality, sanitation, safety, and external contractors as required
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Support hazard identification, equipment safety improvements, and safe operating procedures
  • Maintain maintenance parts, tools, hardware, and inventory; assist with sourcing and ordering spare parts as needed
  • Complete work orders, inspection reports, service records, and maintenance documentation
  • Train and support operators on pre-start checks, cleaning, and minor preventative maintenance requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures, GMP standards, food safety requirements, quality standards, and occupational health and safety regulations
  • Report food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to the appropriate internal team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid Industrial Millwright licence
  • Ontario Certificate of Qualification 433A preferred
  • Apprentices may be considered depending on experience
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food, beverage, packaging, or automated production environment
  • Experience in beverage manufacturing considered a strong asset
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience working on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and production machinery
  • Experience with fillers, labelers, tray packers, canning lines, kegging lines, packaging equipment, or similar production equipment considered an asset
  • Welding, fabrication, pneumatic systems, and piping experience
  • Electrical and PLC troubleshooting experience considered an asset, but not required
  • Ability to move, assemble, disassemble, troubleshoot, and repair various types of machinery and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and diagrams
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with maintenance documentation and CMMS systems considered an asset
  • Understanding of GMP, food safety, lockout/tagout, and workplace safety practices
  • Forklift and scissor lift experience considered an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding production environment
  • Comfortable working shifts, (weekend overtime on-call support as required)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, train, and support others
  • Team-based work ethic with a strong focus on troubleshooting, safety, quality, and equipment reliability
