We are seeking a skilled Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a leading construction equipment rental organization in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of the Service team, the Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a vital role in keeping rental fleet and customer equipment operating safely, reliably, and effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and accurately estimate repair costs.
  • Inspect rental equipment to ensure proper operation and identify faults or potential failures.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, components, and systems using hand and power tools.
  • Test repaired equipment to confirm proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and factory standards.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on construction equipment.
  • Service attachments and related working tools.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Complete service reports and related documentation accurately.
  • Support branch operations by performing additional duties as assigned by Branch and Service Managers.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols and environmentally responsible practices.

What We’re Looking For

Mechanical experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or a 3rd/4th year apprentice with strong diagnostic and failure analysis skills.

  • Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining a wide range of construction equipment, including Genie, Skyjack, and CAT equipment.
  • Aerial equipment technician experience and manufacturer certifications with Skyjack, JLG, Genie, MEC, GMG, CAT, 310S, 310T, or 421A considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with CAT systems such as ET and SIS would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly, up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and health and safety policies.
  • Technical understanding of CAT equipment considered an asset.
  • Licensed Heavy Equipment Mechanic designation preferred.
  • Flexibility to support on-call schedules and adapt to business demands.
  • Hydraulic system knowledge.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
  • Ownership of personal tools required for the role.
