Job Description:Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care. Active participation in the model of care that integrates quality improvement principles, lean methodology, best practice, advanced technology and patient family centered care. Responsible for promoting organizational mission, vision and values by providing safe quality nursing care to clients. Under the direction of the Public Health Supervision, the immunization Nurse functions within a team of Public Health Practitioners focused on disease prevention through immunizations across the region. These services may be provided in public health centers or public facilities such as malls and schools.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Licenses

Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

Nursing diploma is acceptable
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR)

Competencies

Intermediate - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
Basic - Computer skills
Basic - Critical thinking skills

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of medical and surgical supplies
Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
Uses independent judgment based on Public Health principles.
Knowledge in principles and practices of immunization
High level of accuracy in health assessment, nursing diagnosis and treatment.
Knowledge of RPNAS Code of Ethics
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
