Job SummaryThe HCA/Caregiver is an essential member of our home care team who works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs.

Responsibilities

Assistance with personal care, grooming, hygiene, and mobility
Implement redirection, calming techniques, and routine management for clients with dementia or memory loss
Meal preparation and light housekeeping
Accompany clients on outings, shopping, and errands
Medication Assist / Reminders
Ambulation and transporting of clients
Provide companionship, cognitive stimulation, and gentle support
Ability to follow care plans and provide accurate documentation/charting

Qualifications

Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student) preferred
Prior experience in general caregiving or supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s/dementia is a strong asset
Must reside in Metro Vancouver or the Lower Mainland and be willing and able to reliably commute to shifts in your local community
Current CPR/First Aid training (or willingness to obtain)
CRC for Vulnerable Sector Check valid for 5 years (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to travel around your local community
Access to Internet / smartphone with data
