Job Description:The Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP Coordinator is an integral member and leader for front line staff, coordinating operational resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring established policies, procedures, and work standards are followed, as well as ongoing mentoring and coaching of personnel. As a member of the front-line team, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP Coordinator is responsible for scene management and support to patients, families and staff. The Emergency Medical Services - EMT Coordinator reports to the Manager. They may also provide occasional support or input on provincial initiatives.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years' experience as a practicing Primary Care Paramedic.

Education

  • Primary Care Paramedic certificate or equiv. education acceptable to employer

Licenses

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license

Competencies

  • Supervisory skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legislation, protocols & scope of practice applicable to EMS in SK
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing workload
  • Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills

Other Information

  • Experience coordinating, and facilitating adult education is an asset.
  • Unrestricted practicing license with Sask College of Paramedics at the PCP level
  • Be physically fit and able to perform duties as outlined
  • Scheduled hours of work may be reduced when a statutory holiday is recognized
