STRIVE is working with a well-established organization in the construction equipment industry seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Shop Foreman in Toronto, ON. This permanent opportunity is ideal for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic with strong leadership skills who enjoys mentoring technicians and supporting daily shop operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate daily shop activities and support service operations
  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to mechanics and service staff
  • Review work orders, repair requirements, and parts requests to ensure quality standards are met
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and complex repairs when required
  • Monitor repair timelines, productivity, and quality of completed work
  • Prepare and review repair estimates and communicate findings effectively
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation
  • Support training and onboarding of new mechanics
  • Ensure team members follow safety policies, procedures, and company standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Collaborate with service and operations teams to ensure efficient equipment repairs and turnaround times

REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician (421A)
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a shop environment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with experience repairing heavy equipment
  • Experience working with construction equipment such as CAT, Genie, Skyjack, or similar equipment
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and equipment controls
  • Experience with diagnostic software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Personal tools required for the role
