Role overview

The Conditional Teacher Certificate authorizes internationally educated teachers to teach professionally while completing the requirements for an Interim Professional Certificate. It is intended for those whose credentials have been assessed by the Office of the Registrar at Alberta Education and Childcare and who have been deemed eligible. It will allow those who plan to teach while completing the requirements for an Interim Professional Certificate to be employed in a teaching position in Alberta.

Edmonton Catholic Schools is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 school year from qualified candidates who hold a Conditional Teacher Certificate. Applications are accepted and interviews are conducted for teaching positions throughout the calendar year.

Edmonton Catholic Schools requires all teachers to be Catholic unless specialized in the following areas:

Career and Technology Studies (CTS) and Career and Technology Foundations (CTF)
Lived Indigenous Experiences
Languages (Cree, French, Spanish, and Ukrainian)
Music (Elementary and Secondary)
Substitute Teaching

Relevant Teaching Evaluations (If applicable)
Faith Formation Plan (Click link to complete document)
Two (2) Professional References Letters (Dated within the last two years)
Baptism Certificate (If applicable)

Only applicants that hold a Conditional Teacher Certificate from the Government of Alberta will be considered.
