About the Role

We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team! Reporting to the Finance Partner, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the firm's financial information while helping drive efficiency and supporting the growth of the accounting function.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Maintaining and reviewing general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Supporting payroll, government remittances, and other compliance requirements
Assisting with the preparation of year-end working papers and coordinating with external advisors
Monitoring and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Identifying and implementing process efficiencies and automation opportunities
Supporting accounting systems administration and future technology initiatives
Preparing management reports and analyzing financial results to support decision-making
Acting as a resource and subject matter expert on internal accounting processes, systems, and reporting activities
Participating in special projects and other accounting initiatives as required

Required Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:

Completion of a Post-Secondary Degree
CPA designation or actively working towards completion
3-5 years of internal accounting experience, preferably in a professional services environment
Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and related APIs for full-cycle accounting
Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
Experience with Power BI or similar financial reporting tools
Advanced proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience working with systems such as CaseWare and iFirm is preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for innovation and efficiency, including a desire to understand and utilize AI tools

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000
