Catholic Independent Schools requires a

1.0 FTE Prep Teacher

at St. Joseph's K-7 School in Smithers BC

This is a 1.0 FTE teacher position beginning September 1, 2026

This full-time (1.0 FTE) Prep Teacher position offers an exciting opportunity to engage students across a range of grade levels through creative and specialized instruction. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, adaptability, and a passion for enriching student learning experiences.

Applicants must hold, or be eligible for a British Columbia Teaching Certificate. Applicants should have experience with Primary & Intermediate grades. Successful candidates must be current in teaching practices and understand the BC Curriculum: e.g. Learning Standards, Assessment for Learning (AFL) practice, and core competencies. A commitment to Catholic values and lifestyle is essential.

This position allows the applicant to use their skills and passion to prepare engaging classroom time with the students, e.g. music, French, drama, debate, textiles, technology, etc. or a hobby you have that is teachable!

Applicants from outside Canada must already have Immigration Visa requirements in place to work in Canada.
