About the Role:
We are looking for an Engineering and Maintenance Project Planner to join the Triple M Metal Engineering & Maintenance team, based out of Hamilton, with travel to various Ontario Triple M Metal locations as required.
The Engineering and Maintenance Project Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and tracking engineering projects and major maintenance work across Ontario operations. This role will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Contractors to ensure projects and maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption.
The successful candidate will play a key role in organizing labour, materials, contractors, and equipment resources while maintaining accurate schedules, tracking progress, and supporting future maintenance and project planning initiatives. There is 1 vacancy for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and maintain project schedules and Gantt charts using MS Project and other planning tools
Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects and major maintenance activities across Ontario locations
Ensure labour, materials, equipment, parts, and contractors are identified and available prior to work commencement
Coordinate timelines and activities with Operations to minimize downtime and operational disruption
Track work progress and update schedules based on actual project execution and changing operational priorities
Identify schedule risks, delays, and resource constraints and work with teams to implement corrective actions
Capture completed schedules, standard job requirements, labour estimates, and resource needs within company systems for future planning purposes
Communicate project updates, maintenance schedules, and planning requirements with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Contractors
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, maintenance, and operational efficiency
Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and planning records

Qualifications:

University Degree in Engineering
Previous experience scheduling and planning engineering or maintenance projects using MS Project
Strong organizational, scheduling, and coordination skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or heavy equipment environments considered an asset
Valid G Driver’s License and ability to travel between Ontario locations as required

Working Conditions:

Combination of office and industrial site environment
Regular travel to Ontario Triple M Metal locations
Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions while on-site
Ability to respond to operational or maintenance-related scheduling changes as required

Salary: $75,000-$80,000
Shift Details: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM
