About the Opportunity

Our client is a publicly traded retailer headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, with an Internal Audit function that touches every part of the business, financial, operational, commercial, and IT. This Senior Internal Auditor role has opened due to growth within the existing team.

Reporting to a Manager or Director, you'll plan and execute operational audits and advisory engagements, helping the Audit Committee and management assess internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve how the business runs. Internal Audit here is treated as a launchpad, giving team members broad exposure and a clear path to a long-term career within or beyond the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute operational audit and advisory engagements across the business
  • Document findings and prepare draft audit and advisory reports
  • Present engagement findings to senior management and align on action plans
  • Support testing and recommend program improvements
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and act as a trusted advisor

What You Bring

  • CPA, CA, or MBA required
  • 2–3 years of Big 4 audit/assurance experience (internal audit experience preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid project management skills and the ability to solve problems independently
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15–20%, as required

Nice to Have

  • CIA or CISA designation
  • Information Technology / SAP knowledge
