Description

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful candidate will be a results-driven, self-starter who is always looking for opportunities for improvement, and has the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment.

It is a SEASONAL position starting at the end of September for a term of 4-5 weeks.

Work location:281 Old Station Road, New Annan PE

Wages: $23 - $25

Bonus:a bonus of up to $300 is available upon completion of the season. It is based on performance, attendance, and safety.

Responsibilities

Operate the truck to haul potatoes from the fields to the storage facilities.
Follow the harvester in the field to load potatoes into trucks.
Unload the potatoes at the storage facility.
Back up the truck into position and use equipment to unload the potatoes into storage bins.
Perform vehicle inspections; clean and perform mandatory maintenance to equipment including basic troubleshooting.
Ensure completion of paperwork.
Represent the company in a professional, positive and pleasant manner.
Work safely to avoid harm to yourself, customer's property, co-workers, equipment, or inventory.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Perform all tasks with safety being the number one priority.
Valid driver’s license of Class 3A or higher (Class 1) and clean driver abstract.
Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
High degree of attention to detail.
Previous experience working at the farm or hauling bulk product would be an asset.
Able to work well independently and follow safety, quality control, and operating procedures at all times.
Attention to detail is essential.
Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
Able to speak, read, and write the English language proficiently.
