JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:Project Crew Technician

Travel:on occasion to nearby farms.

We are hiring project crew workers to assemble and install equipment at our poultry farm. This is a great opportunity for hands-on experience working on various sized projects in egg farming, everything from installing fences, to assembling large scale components of modern egg production barns. You will be working as part of an important team at the farm, helping prepare barns to reach their full potential. As a Canada wide company this role will involve company paid travel to various sites.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble prefabricated equipment
  • Cut, grind, drill, and paint various metal components
  • Install ventilation, egg handling, feed and manure conveying systems
  • Help unload shipments of pallets and parts
  • Retrofit existing equipment, including working in active poultry barns
  • Other farm duties as requested

Work Environment

  • Physical activity in a farm environment (both inside and outside of barns) such as pushing and pulling, crouching, bending, reaching, as well as some climbing and working at heights
  • Work in barns can be noisy, odorous, hot, humid, and dusty
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 50 kg

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Reliable means of transportation to work everyday
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Able to show up to work on time and ready to work. Willing to work until the task is complete, which can require longer hours on some shifts. Must have flexibility in respect to scheduling
  • Ability to execute all tasks in a safe manner
  • Comfortable around farm animals. Able to adhere to animal welfare standards. Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset
  • On the job training will be provided
