CapWest is a fast-growing, well-established forming contractor. We currently have a large and diverse project portfolio with many interesting projects all over the lower mainland. We have a very experienced team of construction professionals and are looking for motivated candidates to join our team.

There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Construction team in Vancouver as a Carpenter.

What Will You Do?

Pre-Fab gang forms, install forms and ensure quality control of formwork.
Install forms to footings, retaining walls, interior walls, columns, slabs and stairs.
Stripping and removal of concrete formwork after concrete pours.
Erect and build scaffolding for access and concrete formwork decks.
Reading and interpreting blueprints.
Accurately take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
Help manage and prevent occupational hazards and ensure site meets all safety standards.
Communicate with Carpenter Foreman regarding any concerns, discrepancies, or alterations
that may arise during construction to a building or areas affected by a building on site
Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring.

3+ years of carpentry experience required
Must have experience with framing, formwork and finishing
Must have experience working on a high-rise construction site
Excellent communication skills in English
Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment
Ability to assess situations and identify potential hazards
Comfortable working at heights
