2nd Class Marine Engineer

full time Excluded position with a day-for-day rotational work schedule (1 week
on/1 week off).
Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Marine 2nd Engineer is
responsible for assisting in the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and
maintenance of the vessel's propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment,
electrical systems. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining
operational readiness while ensuring compliance with Transport Canada
regulations, Company policies, and the International Safety Management (ISM)
Code.
Key Responsibilities
in the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the vessel's
propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
engineering watches in accordance with Company procedures and Transport
Canada regulations.
machinery performance and troubleshoot equipment issues as required.
preventative maintenance and repairs using the Company's planned
maintenance system.
accurate engineering logs, maintenance records, and operational
documentation.
with bunkering operations and environmental protection procedures.
to machinery alarms, equipment failures, and emergency situations.
compliance with Company policies, Transport Canada regulations, ISM Code
requirements, and environmental standards.
a strong safety culture by participating in emergency drills, safety
meetings, and ongoing training.
guidance and support to junior engineering personnel as required.
collaboratively with all onboard departments to support safe and efficient
vessel operations.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
Canada Second Class Motor Certificate of Competency
Transport Canada Marine Medical Certificate
Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certification
Safety Management (PSM) certification (or ability to obtain)
WHMIS certification
to obtain all Company-required training and certifications
