ABE Pathways Specialist Term Part-time
28 Hours Per Week Flexible Schedule
(including weekends and evenings when needed)
ASAP to March 31, 2027
Duties:Reporting to the Dean of Innovation in Teaching and Learning or designate, the ABE Pathways Specialist works across departments and with community partners to support outreach, intake, student navigation, and transition for ABE Pathways programming. As an initial point of contact for Pathways inquiries, the position provides information, guidance, and support to prospective and current Pathways students, particularly those preparing for further post-secondary study. The ABE Pathways Specialist helps students understand pathway requirements, access services and resources, and move successfully through pathway processes from inquiry to transition. The role also provides operational and administrative support for Pathways programming, ensuring effective coordination of processes, communications, records, and activities. The position requires strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, as well as sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to student-centred service in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate has a two-year post-secondary diploma in education, human services, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with a minimum of three years of experience in post-secondary education, adult upgrading, student services, pathway programming, or a related area. They possess knowledge of secondary and post-secondary educational systems and practices, experience working with diverse populations and community partners, and strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and student support skills. The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality, while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and web-based applications, are required. Experience in event planning, outreach, or student-facing coordination is considered an asset, and a valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.

Salary: Position #214
CUPE Pay Level 5 with a starting wage of $32.16 per hour with increments progressing to Step 5 as per the CUPE Collective agreement (This includes 16% in lieu of benefits and vacation)
