We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed administrative professionals to join our team:
Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Education (SOE)
Work Location: OCDSB Administration Building, 133 Greenbank Road, Nepean
Nature of Position: 1.0 Regular, Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, 10.5 month work year
Affiliation: Union Exempt
Salary range: $71,635 to $84,332 per annum (Level 4, to be prorated to 10.5 months per year)
The Administrative Assistant will provide confidential and professional administrative support to the Superintendent of Education (SOE) who is a student-centered leader responsible for the operational excellence and educational success of an assigned family of schools The Assistant undertakes a broad range of administrative activities to ensure the effective day to day operations of the office, including coordinating work flow, providing updates on all current and emerging issues of importance; maintaining schedules and calendaring system; gathering data from various sources, preparing correspondence, reports and agendas; coordinating meetings and taking minutes; communicating with a variety of contacts, both internal and external on a daily basis; and performs other administrative functions.
Qualifications

Post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, and 5 to 6 years related experience in progressively responsible administrative positions. (An equivalent combination of experience and education may also be considered).

Excellent interpersonal/Communication Skills (verbal and in writing)

Written communications skills for drafting correspondence

Excellent organization and time Management skills to ensure timely completion of multiple tasks and priorities, and must demonstrate flexibility in work demands

Excellent proficiency in computer applications, word processing, databases and spreadsheets

High level of confidentiality and discretion required, including tact and diplomacy.

Creative problem solver who is able to triage, provide solutions, and/or redirect requests/inquiries as appropriate.

Works effectively as part of a team, and is customer service oriented.

An independent thinker who works well without a lot of direction;

Demonstrates empathy, judgment, initiative, responsibility and common sense.

Knowledge of the Board's organizational structure, its programs, policies and procedures and a working knowledge of the Education Act, various regulations, collective agreements, and of the Ontario public education system in general;

Knowledge of standard computer applications, including email, use of online calendar systems, and Google applications.\\
