With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a full-time Senior Manager, Student Records & Reporting within the Planning Services department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to and under the direction of the Head of Planning Services, the Senior Manager, Student Records and Reporting will have responsibilities for management of Student Records, school administrative processes and Ministry data reporting. The ideal candidate combines education sector experience, data and systems expertise, and strong leadership capabilities to manage student information processes, drive operational efficiency, and support organizational decision-making.

  • Develop, build, and provide strong leadership to the Student Records and Reporting team
  • Lead the development and standardization of student records procedures and practices to ensure consistency and data quality among all TCDSB schools
  • Establish and implement a continuous improvement program for the Student Records and Reporting Department
  • Lead and coordinate the submission of all student record data to the Ministry of Education via OnSIS, and other education partners as required
  • Work collaboratively with various departments, and senior academic leaders to ensure TCDSB student data is accurate, available, and supports the general needs of the board
  • Support other TCDSB departments data requests and reporting needs (i.e. Planning, Finance, Research, Academic, etc.) to support various initiatives and ensure on-going operations
  • Partner with Technology Operations and Secretary Support Specialists in the on-going systems and process training of school office and administrative staff
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate the performance of strategic assignments and team staff as required
  • Identify professional development opportunities for staff, as applicable
  • Represent the TCDSB at provincial associations such as Ontario Association of School Business
  • Officials (OASBO) and with the Ministry of Education for all student records related matters
  • Prepare reports, budget forecast and cost/benefit analysis as required
  • Prepare and present material in front of large internal audience and board meetings from time to time.
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned or required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University or College degree in business administration, information technology, data management, or education leadership
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in education administration (higher education or K-12) with at least three (3) years of leadership experience managing student records/data
  • Strong experience working with Enterprise Student Information Systems (i.e. Aspen)
  • A clear communicator who uses data and process thinking, understands workplace dynamics, and can balance different priorities while staying focused on organizational goals
  • Strong technical acumen leveraging communication, collaboration, and productivity tools to improve process and efficiency of the team
  • Experience in developing organization-wide policies, processes, and/or procedures
  • Strong leadership and management skills, ability to motivate, mentor and coach staff to coordinate, leverage and support organization-wide initiatives and operational workflows
  • Proven ability to communicate to audiences at various levels
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Proven ability to respond competently in high-pressure and high-stress situations
  • Excellentbusiness analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
  • Strong collaborative skills and a proven ability to manage and facilitate discussion forums, process reviews, workshops, or other similar group discovery and feedback methods
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Education Ontario SIS (OnSIS) data submissions would be an asset
