What you’ll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Business Consultant is responsible for delivering projects for CIBC Global Asset Management (GAM) of various degrees of complexity as part of a team of Business Consultants and Project Managers who are engaged from end to end including initiation, requirement gathering, design, construction, testing, implementation and closure. The role works with a Project Manager on complex projects, providing support on documenting requirements, solution design, etc. For less complex projects, a dual role is required which includes both Business Consultant and Project Manager responsibilities. In addition, this role supports a number of Business As Usual (BAU) maintenance activities including marketing and sales support, client statement issues, product issues, operational efficiencies, etc., and periodic business activities such as execution of investment management changes, PFIC reporting, portfolio rebalancing, portfolio manager changes, etc. This delivery team’s primary focus is executing GAM’s strategic business roadmap and driving continuous improvement in daily processes.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $75,870 to $94,840.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you’ll succeed

Business Analysis – Develop and document optimal business solutions to achieve key business objectives.

Problem solving – Lead discussions to investigate current processes, identify constraints and outline options so business can make informed decisions.

Project Management – Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, timing and costs. Ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project and have clarity in their roles, activities and timelines

Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services.

Project Coordination – Proactively identify risks to the project schedule and find ways to mitigate them. Monitor milestones; ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets.

Communication and Persuasion– Share ideas, build consensus, and write with impact. Chair meetings. Follow up with the right level of information based on the audience.

Relationships – Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.

Effective use of tools– Proficient in using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio.

Continuous improvement – Look for ways to improve current process by making them more efficient, less manual and more bullet proof

Who you are

-

You have 1-5 years’ experiencein Business Analysis and/or Project Management. You can demonstrate an understanding of the practices, procedures, and principles required to successfully deliver projects, from planning to implementation. Ability to analyze detailed concepts, resolve project issues, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of solutions

You have a degree/diplomain a related field of study.
