The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest family health teams in Ontario. With more than 125 physicians across 21 sites within London, and Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, the Thames Valley Family Health Team is committed to providing comprehensive inter-collaborative primary health care to over 162,000 patients.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Finance Clerk to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 hours a day. The Finance Clerk provides essential financial and administrative support to the Finance department at Thames Valley Family Health Team. This is primarily an operational and transactional role requiring strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, financial literacy and comfort with technology and accounting systems. The Finance Clerk plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, document management and supporting the organization's audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a finance administration, bookkeeping, and other administrative roles � diploma/certificate in business administration, accounting or finance, or a related field is an asset, though equivalent experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with priority focus in excel (formulas and pivot tables)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with accounting software is an asset, as TVFHT is currently implementing software and the successful candidate will be expected to learn the system as part of onboarding

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Finance inbox, distinguishing between invoices, contracts, packing slips, and other financial documents and processing or routing each appropriately
  • Receive executed contracts and agreements, classifying them by type, and filing them in accordance with the appropriate naming conventions
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards for the organization monthly and accurately code transactions
  • Review and upload invoices received to the organization's accounting software
  • Submit physician sessional invoices for EMR usage billing
  • Collaborate with members of the finance team to complete workload required
  • Demonstrate a team-based attitude, treating co-workers with respect and dignity in accordance with TVFHT�s policies
  • Communicate with co-workers from various departments and/or back-office support team wherever necessary to achieve completion of financial duties
  • Participate in team meetings and attend All Staff meetings when they occur on scheduled days of work
  • Maintain accuracy in accounts payable records and provide reports needed to back-office support team
  • Provide accurate reconciliation reports and expense tracking reports as required
  • Assist Finance Lead in improving efficiencies within the Finance Department and development of reporting tools that provide required information in an efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Lead or Executive Director, Performance and People

Hourly rate depending on experience: $24.1265 - $29.4226
